10th Annual Halloween Themed Car Show & Chili Tasting at Palm Springs Air Museum

Offers Fun for the Whole Family

 

Palm Springs, CA; Oct 18, 2017:  The 10th Annual Chili Tasting & Car Rally at the Palm Springs Air Museum on Saturday October 28, 2017 offers Halloween fun for the whole family. Free admission for children 12 and under who wear costumes (NO MASKS) with paying adult.  New this year will be an appearance by the Mr. Peanuts NUTmobile!

 

You will be excited by the different kinds of cars inside and out sponsored by Desert Classic Car Association, Sun ‘n’ Sand Region of the Antique Car Club of America, and Packards International Automobile Classics. Thrill as you get up close to the dozens of vintage WWII, Korean and Vietnam era aircraft inside four hangars totalling 86,000 square feet plus an additional 40,000 square feet on the tarmac behind the museum.

 

Give your taste buds a work out by tasting the different kinds of museum docent chili recipes cooked by LULU, and served by museum docents, volunteers and staff.  Visitors get to vote for their favorite cars and chili by category.  Las Casuelas Terraza, Ruby’s Diner, and Spa Resort Casino will compete for best restaurant chili judged by celebrity judges from CV Independent, CVWeekly and CBS Local 2.

 

The Car Show is included with museum admission which ranges from $10 - $17, with a special family rate of $37 for 1or 2 adults and 3 children age 12 and under; and $47 for 1 or 2 adults with children aged 13 to 17. Car Rally hours are 10 am - 2 pm. Car Show Voting ends 2:00 PM with the Trophy Presentation at 2:30 PM.

         

The Chili Tasting starts at 11 am and lasts until 3:00 pm or whenever the Chili is gone! Chili tastes are only $1 per tasting or six tastes for $5, after paying admission to the Museum. Chili Voting ends at 2:30. There are also items up for raffle. All funds raised from the Tastings benefit the Palm Springs Air Museum Volunteer Fund.

The Palm Springs Air Museum is an educational non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and honor our veterans while educating future generations. One of the largest collections of flying WWII aircraft, plus Korea and Vietnam era aircraft, 9,500 volume Library, flight simulators and tours through a flyable B-17 are housed in 86,000 square feet of climate controlled exhibit space.   Movies show in the Buddy Rogers Theatre continuously after 11 am.  Open daily, 10 am – 5 PM (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and Feb. 16, 2018) normal admission ranges from $10 to $17, free for children 5 and under and for active military with ID.  760-778-6262, www.PalmSpringsAirMuseum.org
