Wings 'n Things Youth Aerospace Weekend
October 24-26

Content Header

Wings 'n Things is a 3-day youth aerospace weekend held on the SUN 'n FUN campus to introduce the dynamic world of aviation.

Scouts, church groups, home school clubs, families and other youth organizations will find unique opportunities ranging from an astronaut’s presentation to skill workshops where students can make balsa gliders or experience the thrill of flying a free flight airplane that is powered only by a rubber band.

A "First Flight" opportunity is offered to youth who have never flown in a general aviation aircraft.  Students can fly simulators, experience wind-tunnels, launch a fun-fly rocket, participate in the egg-drop challenge, share camping adventures and take advantage of the 176 acres encompassing these activities.  More than thirty (30) experience stations will entice young learners into the world of aviation, as well as teenagers.

STEM-based activities are focused on students ages 7-18.  Scouts seeking new badges can combine aviation themed activities with workshops on first aid, safety, first responders, electricity, biking, technology, weather, horticulture, photography and more.  Career exploration opportunities are also available.  A Wings ‘n Things attendance badge will be available for purchase.

First- time youth fliers may register for a "First Flight."  No additional fee but space is limited and is weather permitting.

A Top Gun Experience in an A/F-18 Flight Simulator is open to students 15 years of age or older.

Computer-based flight simulators are available for all participants.

Experience nature.

Registration is required for all participants.
